Christmas Putz Central Moravian Church 2016 Schedule
November 25 - December 31, 2016
Christian Education Building,
40 W. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015
The Christmas Putz is the retelling of the story of Christ's birth through narration and music, while tiny lights illuminate each miniature scene. Putz is from the German word "putzen" which means to decorate. The figures in the putz, many of which are antiques of German origin, are displayed among live moss, driftwood and rocks. The building of a putz is unique to the Moravians and Bethlehem's first settlers brought their figures with them when they settled here. The putz is in its 79th year of operation at the Central Moravian Church.
